1877. Mae G Smith was born 9 June, she was the daughter of William H Smith and Emma Gould of Scipio Twp.

1878. Born 6 March.

1898. Alden graduated from Moravia Teachers Training Class at Moravia NY.

1898-1908. Alden was a public school teacher.

1901. Alden married Mae G Smith.

1902. They built a home in Popular Ridge NY.

1908/13. Alden was Principal of York Union School in Livingston County NY.

1914. Alden worked for the Genesee Salt Company at Piffard NY as General Foreman and later as General Manager.

1923. Alden entered a lithographic business until he retired in 1946.

1929. Mae died on 19 January and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Scipioville NY.

1947. Alden published the First edition of "Records of a Historical Family Record of Elihu Sherman (1777-1841) With His Descendants and The Early Ancestors."

1955. Alden published the Second edition of "Records of a Historical Family Record of Elihu Sherman (1777-1841) With His Descendants and The Early Ancestors." He later published an undated 9 page supplement.

1966. Alden was in poor health.

1967. Alden died and is buried in Scipioville NY.

1. Carlton Lee Sherman (16), born 8 November 1902 at Popular Ridge NY, married 28 November 1929 to Viola Laura Rick who was born in Buffalo NY, daughter of Mrs Louisa Rick. Took an accounting course at Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo, Lived in Buffalo and was engaged in accounting and auditing. Carlton died 3 March 1956 in Buffalo NY, buried in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Buffalo. One child.

      3. Doris Minnie Sherman (16), born 18 February 1906 in Popular Ridge NY, married April 1922 to John Francis McGuire at Genesee NY. John was born 9 May 1899 in Rochester NY. They lived in Rochester. John was a postal clerk when they were married, in 1943 he was the Superintendent of Mail. Assistant Post-Master 1947-53. Doris died 1 November 1930 from cerebral hemorrhage, buried in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Rochester. John married second to in 1933 to Inez Cooney.
