1810. Census of Dartmouth Town/Twp Bristol Co MA indicated Catherine lived with her parents.
1820. Census of Scipio Town/Twp Cayuga Co NY indicated Catherine lived with her parents.
1825. Catherine Sherman married Henry Deuel of Moonshine NY in Cayuga. They were both workers in a carding mill in Moonshine.
1838. They settled on a farm near Tiffin OH in Pleasant Twp Seneca Co.
1840. Census Adams Twp Seneca Co OH indicated: That a Henry Duel family; all ages and sexes matches perfectly to those of the parents and 6 children shown below.
1840. The Deuels were apparently renting land as no record of land ownership was found for this time period.
1840. Her father's will gave her and her sisters Minerva and Nancy 20 acres, in equal shares.
1843. Jan 25th, William Mitchel lease to Henry Duel. This article of agreement made this the twenty-fifth day of January Eighteen hundred and forty three Between William Mitchel of Seneca County and State of Ohio and Henry Duel of the same place. Witnessth that the said William Mitchel hath leased unto the said Henry Deuel ten acres of land lying and being in the Township of Adams Seneca County beginning at the South West corner of Earl Churches land on Section thirty one running South along the Township Road between the Township of Pleasant and Adams seventy nine or eighty rods to the land occupied by George Strickling then East for enough to make ten acres of land- The said Deuel on his part agrees to clear the above number of acres of land and fence the same with a good strong fence nine rails high and lock the corners of said fence. The said Deuel his heirs or assigns is to have the whole use of the above described ten acres of land seven years from the first day of November next then the said Deuel his heirs or assigns agree to give up to said Mitchel his heirs or assigns peaceable possession of the above described acres of land. The said Deuel agrees to build a threshing floor twenty feet by fourteen with a slab or dabboard roof on forks or crutches stuck in the ground and thrash the wheat that is raised on the above ten acres on said land and feed the straw on said land. The above land is to be fenced in two five acre lots. The logs for making the plank for said floor is to taken off the above mentioned land. The fencing timber to be taken off the above mentioned land. In Witness the parties have here unto set their hands and seals.

This lease was filed for Record October 2nd 1847 and recorded October 12th 1847. R M C Martin Recorder Seneca County Ohio.1848. Oct 23rd, Henry Deuel purchased 40 acres in Pleasant Twp Seneca Co OH from David Deuel of Dryden NY. Catherine Deuel sold Dec 14 1863 to Bryon Rule. 1874 plat map shows B Rule owner.
1850. Census Pleasant Twp Seneca Co OH indicated: Henry Duel age 61, farmer, value of real estate $800, born in NY; Catherine Duel age 47, born MA; Frances Duel [unclear female] age 27, born in NY. Next door was their children: John Duel age 24, farmer, value of real estate $800, born in NY; Reuban Duel age 23, value of real estate $500, born in NY; Sherman Duel age 20, born in NY; Jane Duel age 17, born in NY; Julia Duel age 12, born in NY. This is recorded in the census as two separate dwellings and families, but could have been a mistake made by the census taker as this separation takes place at end of one page and the top of the next page. The very next entry on the census sheet is that of Catherine's brother Howland Sherman and family.
1853. Jan 28th, Henry Deuel died. Buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, 5 miles NE of Tiffin OH, headstone reads Henry Deuel, died Jan 18 1853, aged.
1864. Catherine Deuel bought 20.5 acres from John & Sarah Willow in Pleasant Twp. No record found of her selling this. 1874 & 1896 plat maps show owner J Willow: Could be their daughter Jane Deuel (Willow).
1870. Dec 14th, Catherine Sherman (Deuel) died. Buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, headstone reads: Catherine/ wife of Henry Deuel/ died Dec 4 1870/ aged 66y 8m 11d.
