1866. Month of May, Alfred and family had apparently moved to Michigan, as their son was James B Sherman was born there.
1866. Alfred bought 40 acres in Watertown Twp on 14 September from Thomas and Elizabeth Coverdale for $240.
1870. Census of Ada Twp Kent County Michigan indicated: Alfred age 30, born 1840 in NY, farm laborer: Margaret age 28, born in Canada, two sons.
1871. Alfred Sherman's brother Charles Sherman who lived in Ontario, had at some time acquired the property Alfred purchased in 1866. On 13 January he sold it to Lewis Harvey for $400.
1876. (Possible) There was a Mrs Mary Sherman that owned 100 acres in East Oxford Twp, Oxford County, Ontario. Located about 1 mile West and 2 miles North of Alfred's brother Charles home. It has not been confirmed that this is Alfred's wife.

1920. Census of Port Huron Michigan, St Clair County indicated: William age 52, Ida age 45 born in 1875 in PA.
1946. Ida Sherman died and is buried at Old Watertown Cemetery.
1953. William Sherman died and is buried at Old Watertown Cemetery.
