          1826. Charles was born in Norwich
          Twp, Oxford County, Ontario. 
          1830. Johan Angeline Sprague
          was born, probably in East Oxford County, Ontario. 
          1851. Census of Norwich Twp
          indicated Charles age 25, carpenter living with his parents. 
          1851. Census of East Oxford
          County indicated Angeline Sprague age 22, single lived at home.
          Her parents were Hiram Sprague age 55 born in NY, Baptist, farmer
          lived in a frame house, and Mary Sprague age 46 born in Canada. 
          1853. A marriage license was
          issued for Charles E Sherman of Norwich and Angeline Sprague
          of East Oxford. Marriage was performed by Baptist Minister Wm
          E Haviland. 
          1861. Census of North Norwich
          Twp indicated Charles age 34, Angeline age 31, two children under
          five years of age, also a Mary Ann Sprague age 28 and Sarah Sprague
          age 11. Lived in an one story framed house. Charles was a Quaker
          the rest were Baptist. The above Mary Ann Sprague married William
          R Sherman (Charles brother) in 1904 and became his second wife.

          and farmer shown in Norwich Twp Lot 4, concession IIV. 
          1871. Directory of North Norwich
          Twp lists Charles in Lot 2, concession III, same location as
          his father Alden. It also lists Charles in Lot 7, concession
          IV. 
          1871. Census of East Oxford
          County indicated Charles age 44, Angeline age 40, 3 children
          under 16 years. Charles indicated "none" for religious
          preference the rest were Baptist. 
          1871. On 13 January Charles
          and wife Angeline, both of the Providence of Ontario sold property
          in Watertown, Tuscola County, Michigan to a Lewis Harvey for
          $400, this is the property his brother Alfred purchased 14 September
          1866. 
          1876. Charles Sherman a carpenter,
          a freeholder, owned 50 acres (SW 1/4 of Lot 10, concession VII.
          This property is 1 mile South and 3/4 mile West of the Village
          of Oriel, Oxford County, Ontario. 
          1881. Census of East Oxford
          County indicated Charles age 53, farmer, Angeline age 51, Mary
          (unclear) E Siple age 14 born in US. 
          1887. On the 6th of April Charles
          and wife Angeline of East Oxford County sold 50 acres (SW 1/4
          of Lot 10, concession VII, to William Addison of the Village
          of Norwich for $2,500. 
          1889. Charles lived in the town of Oriel Ontario, East Oxford
          County, and received $270 from his mothers estate. 
 
          1891. Census of East Oxford County
          indicated Charles age 63, Angeline age 60. 
          1909. Johan Angeline Sherman
          died on 12 February, buried Burgessville Baptist Cemetery (no
          dates on tombstone). 
          1912. Charles Sherman died 11
          April, buried Burgessville Baptist Cemetery.  |
